These jeweled glass vessels called treasure jars are, in a sense, jewelry boxes that are both functional and beautiful. The objects appear to be small scale sculptures, but when removed the metal tops disassemble into pendants that can be worn as necklaces. Like the "surprise" in a Faberge egg the elements encased in the sculpture change to reveal something unexpected. The combination of precious and semi-precious stones with gold and silver form the stacked beads and pendants that are meant to hang from the pearl necklaces or chains that are found contained within the luminous vessels.

Ruby Treasure Jar
Blown red and gold glass jar with acid etching. Disc and tube hold a faceted Morganite pendant fronted by a double seahorse pendant with a diamond and ruby. A slider bead with diamond and ruby surrounds the base. A string of pearls with a cast gold clasp is contained in the vessel. All metal is 18 and 22 karat gold. Height 4 1/4".

Rose Quartz Vessel

Blown, iridized glass base with cap and tube assembly of sterling silver. Tube holds two cast and fabricated gold and silver wearable beads set with gemstones. The top element is a carved rose quartz pendant which slides into the top of the silver shaft. Size is 6" x 3" x 3".

Tube holds three cast and fabricated gold and silver wearable beads set with opals, sapphires, moonstone, and tourmaline . The top element is a dendrite quartz and gold pendant that slides into the top of the silver shaft. The jar holds a necklace of pearls and faceted peridot with 14 karat gold leaf clasp. Height 7"

Deconstructed treasure jar - all metal elements are 14, 18, and 22 karat gold. Visible are cap and shaft, cast leaf bead with yellow sapphire and amethyst, fabricated bead and a view of the pendant bottom showing an amethyst. The top of the pendant holds a faceted ametrine. Surrounding the vessel is a necklace of multi-colored tourmalines with a cast leaf closure.

Blown dichroic glass, "gumdrop" amethyst, pink and green tourmaline, rose quartz, tourmalated quartz, labradorite beads.
